F Type Jaguar by Tim Layzell

By Neill Watson12 May 2014

tim-layzell-ftype-2 I’ve always liked the distinctive style of Tim Layzell’s art, very dynamic with a hint of Art Deco to it. It’s good to see this latest work commissioned by Jaguar of the F Type Coupe chasing an F Type convertible.

As Tim says, “The angle of the Coupé that I’ve chosen to paint shows off some of what I feel are its most exciting design cues; the tail lights, the deep-draw rear wings and its dramatic roof line. I wanted to paint it in a situation we’d all love to be in, driving through the mountains in late afternoon sunlight and shadows, while perhaps chasing another piece of exotica, in this case the F-TYPE Convertible!”

Here’s a video of Tim and Jaguar’s Ian Callum talking about his work and the F Type. They don’t mention yet whether there are plans to release the artwork as a limited print, but a limited edition signed by Callum and Layzell would be a cool thing to hang on any wall.
