It’s good to see some of the lesser known watchmakers recalling their motorsport heritage. Launched at Baselworld 2013, the three model Pioneer Racemaster series are unique in being made from stainless steel with no added nickel, making the case 100 times more resistant to scratching than normal. Models are the Racemaster GT (2 push-pieces), Racemaster GTM (mono-pusher) and Racemaster GTF (flyback function). Some nice looking watches in a similar style to their mechanical stopwatches, more of which a little later. If you’re the type of person who always forgets to remove thier watch before reaching down into the recesses of your engine, you can be assured that your arm will collect far more damage than your watch, thanks to the refining process of the steel.
