By Neill Watson28 May 2012

Steve McQueen’s ranch home in Santa Paula home may have been sold. Originally on the market over a year ago at $1.95 million, the property was lowered in price to $795,000, before being taken off the market. We’re told that the house is now in escrow and may have a sale contract on it.

The star bought the property not long before he passed away, allegedly as the area is considered to biplane restoration capital of north America. The property comes complete with a 4,500-sq ft airplane hangar where McQueen stored his 2 Stearman biplanes, his car and motorcycle collection as well as three acres of Syrah vineyards that produce 5,000 to 7,000 bottles a year, a full equestrian facility and rows of fruit trees. Built in 1892, the Victorian-style home still retains much of its period details, including antique stained glass windows throughout. The 3,000 square-foot house includes 3 bedrooms, 2.75 bathrooms, a full wine cellar, and Jacuzzi hot tub. The gourmet kitchen has been updated with modern appliances.
