Jaguar’s Project 7 concept will be making it’s debut at Goodwood. With styling cues harking back to the D Type, it’s a fully functional, single seater car powered by the 5.0 Supercharged V8, developing 550 PS. Gone are the roof mechanism, replaced by the D Type style headrest fairing, plus the passenger seat is out, in it’s place a helmet holder. Of course.
Colour is the cool blue shade made famous by the racing D Types of 1956/57 and the name, Project 7, is a nod to the seven Le Mans victories of the period. Other changes are a new front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser; lowered windshield and restyled front bumper. The car will be driven up the hill this weekend by Jaguar Chief Engineer Mike Cross. He doesn’t hang about…. The video shows a shakedown test at Shelsley Walsh hillclimb. Turn up the volume.
