We’ve written before about our love of the tobacco sponsored era of motorsport. The majestic colours that these brands brought to the grids of world championship motorsport make the modern era of ‘energy drinks’ and computer giants look rather tame.
Our other loves are the straight six howl of a BMW and the mountainous James Hardie 1000 track at Mount Panorama. The Australians poineered the use of the on board camera, mid race interviews on the Conrod Straight still spring to mind to this day.
So we are ever so slightly envious of Richard Meaden’s latest Motorsport Magazine film. Driving the Frank Gardner, John Player Special liveried Group C BMW 635 CSI. While the location is the flat and wide open Silverstone than the plunging roller coaster of Mount Panorama, the car still sounds superb.
Take a look, enjoy that howl. Volume up to Eleven…
